Forest-grown dried Shiitake mushrooms, concentrated sources of natural Umami, have been the critical backbone of Zen cooking. Shiitake enhances the Umami taste of non-MSG Vegan and any cuisine. Umami, the 5th taste, stimulates protein taste receptor cells to improve flavor satisfaction. Our Dried Shiitake also has the highest Vitamin D content in non-meat food.
Our Shiitake are harvested 100% naturally in Japan. A two-season crop harvested by over 600 local cultivators who we know personally.
